Volunteer Opportunities
Tulip Time Volunteers
Sign up at www.pellahistorical.org/tuliptimevolunteer
- Windmill, Historical Village, Scholte House Greeter – Welcome guests and answer questions (Dutch costume required)
- Ticket Taker – Greet guests, take tickets, answer questions (Dutch costume required)
- Maria’s Tea Room Kitchen help – Set up trays of food, make tea, do dishes
- Artisans – Skilled in art of blacksmith, woodwork, knitting or weaving
- Information Windmill Greeter – Welcome guests and answer questions (Dutch costume required)
Event Volunteers
Pella Historical Society hosts King’s Day, Kermis and Wyatt Earp Days annually. These events require similar volunteers as Tulip Time, and more:
- Facilitate Games/Booths – Give instructions and answer questions
Seasonal Work
Plant tulip bulbs, gardening and outdoor work, and general maintenance/upkeep volunteers are needed throughout the year. Some work can be performed as a family.
Gift Shop Support
Place stickers on product and organize inventory. Can be performed as a family. Year-long volunteers needed.
Windmill and Scholte House tour guide
Walk with our guests through the Vermeer Windmill and/or Scholte House tours. Guides will be trained with a script. Year-long volunteers needed.

Millers
Must be at least 18 years old and skilled at performing milling activities. Year-long volunteers needed.
