2020 President's Report

Dear Community Friends,

Pella is unusual in that there are many not-for-profits  who  need financial  support especially because of the impacts of Covid-19. It’s possible for individuals to become overwhelmed by requests for contributions.  That's why the Pella Community Foundation was established.  We spread the impact of a single gift to a broad spectrum of different organizations.  Your gift to our annual fund can have a wide impact.  To make it easy use the “Donate” button on the home page and make your contribution on-line.

 

For 2021 the Pella Community Foundation has awarded 32 grants  to 28 different organizations totaling $117,100 which sets a new record. Two Impact grants were awarded which are intended to play a key role in providing significant funding for projects that strengthen Pella by addressing major initiatives and promising opportunities. The Well was awarded a grant of $25,000 for their Well Works expansions project and the Pella Community Ambulance was granted $10,000 for a multi-use trailer.  

With the ups and downs of the markets during this Covid-19 year our assets continued to grow with several major gifts, the establishment of new Endowment Funds and Donor Advised Funds.  We take pride in consistently minimizing operating costs.  We are managed by volunteers, have no paid executive staff and endeavour to keep the costs of operation as low as possible so more funds can be used for grants.
